This policy explains how Property Thesis uses cookies, local browser storage and similar storage or access technologies across the Property Thesis website and application.

1. About this policy

Property Thesis is operated by Miles Robinson trading as Property Thesis.

Some technologies are necessary for the service to work.

Other technologies, such as optional analytics or marketing technologies, will only be used where appropriate and where the required consent has been obtained.

2. What are cookies and similar technologies?

Cookies are small pieces of information stored on or accessed from your device when you use a website or online service.

Similar technologies can include:

  • Local storage

  • Session storage

  • Scripts

  • Tags

  • Other technologies that store information on, or access information from, a user’s device

This policy uses the term “storage technologies” to cover cookies and similar technologies where appropriate.

3. Strictly necessary technologies

Property Thesis uses storage technologies that are necessary to provide functionality you request.

This includes technology used to:

  • Maintain an authenticated session

  • Keep you signed in

  • Support account security

  • Remember essential service state

  • Enable core application functionality

The Property Thesis application uses browser storage as part of its authentication implementation so that signed-in sessions can persist and authentication tokens can be refreshed securely.

These technologies are not used for advertising simply because they are present on your device.

Where a technology is strictly necessary to provide the service you have requested, it may operate without optional consent.

4. Payments

When you choose to subscribe to Property Thesis Member, you are directed to Stripe’s payment environment to complete payment and subscription setup.

Stripe may use cookies or similar technologies on its own payment pages for purposes including payment processing, security and fraud prevention.

Stripe is responsible for its own use of technologies on its independently operated payment environment.

Property Thesis receives subscription and payment-status information needed to administer your membership but does not need to store your full card details.

5. Address lookup

Property Thesis uses an external address-lookup service to return matching addresses after you enter a postcode.

The lookup is made from the Property Thesis server. The address-lookup API credential is not placed in your browser.

We do not categorise the postcode lookup itself as an advertising or analytics technology.

6. Analytics

At the date of this policy, the Property Thesis application is not intended to deploy optional third-party analytics tracking merely by virtue of a user visiting the application.

If we introduce non-essential analytics technologies in future, we will update our information and, where required, obtain consent before those technologies are used.

Analytics technologies will not be treated as strictly necessary simply because they help us understand or improve the service.

7. Marketing technologies

Property Thesis does not intend to place advertising or behavioural marketing tracking technologies on your device as part of the core V1 application.

Separately, if you choose to receive marketing communications, your contact and consent information may be processed using marketing and automation services such as Mailchimp and Zapier.

Marketing email consent is separate from browser-cookie consent.

If we introduce advertising pixels, behavioural tracking or similar non-essential technologies in future, we will update this policy and obtain consent where required before using them.

8. Your choices

Where Property Thesis uses non-essential storage technologies that require consent, you will be given an appropriate choice before they are activated.

Our intended controls provide the ability to:

  • Accept non-essential technologies

  • Reject non-essential technologies

  • Manage preferences

Rejecting non-essential technologies will not prevent technologies that are genuinely necessary to provide the service you have requested.

You should also be able to revisit your choice through a Cookie settings control where non-essential consent is in use.

9. Website and application

Property Thesis operates both a public website and an authenticated application.

Different technologies may be required on each part of the service.

We aim to keep our consent approach and legal information consistent across the Property Thesis service.

Where the authenticated application only uses technologies necessary for login, security and core functionality, those technologies may operate without an optional analytics or marketing consent choice.

10. Third-party services

Some features link to or interact with services operated by third parties.

A third party may use its own cookies or similar technologies when you visit or interact directly with its service.

Examples may include payment services and other external services you choose to access.

Those organisations are responsible for explaining their own use of cookies and similar technologies on their services.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie & Storage Policy when our website, application, technology providers or legal requirements change.

If we introduce a new non-essential technology that requires consent, we will update our consent controls as appropriate rather than relying only on a retrospective policy change.

The latest version will show its last updated date.
